Ghaneswari Marawi was born in Chitrahi village Dindori, Madhya Pradesh. She started painting walls as a laborer and later received encouragement to continue her art from her husband and fellow tribal artist, Pradeep Marawi. She developed a style of painting using dots akin to cows’ footprints. Ghaneswari believes that art is for ornamenting the space around us as well as to give new energy through the tales they depict. She gives multiple colors to her figures of animals, plants and humans.
